Anti-ABA Campaign
A campaign that critically examines Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and its impact on neurodivergent people, particularly autistic individuals.
Why it exists
ABA is widely used and promoted as:
- Standard practice
- Evidence-based intervention
- Necessary support
But lived experiences often tell a different story.
Problem it solves
Harmful practices persist because:
- They’re normalized
- They’re institutionalized
- They’re rarely questioned publicly
How it works
- Centering lived experience
- Challenging dominant narratives
- Creating space for critique
- Raising ethical questions
How to use it
- Advocacy and awareness
- Policy discussions
- Education and training
- Community dialogue
What it’s not
- Not simplistic or reactionary
- Not dismissing all support
- Not reducing complexity
Why it matters
Because not all “support” is safe.
And silence protects harmful systems.
